Tips for Day 1 - Screening Day

Day1- Screening day, turnsout to be Nightmare for many. Even one who is recommended and screened in before gets screendout There are various factor that matters for screening in. I shall let you know one by one. 1st- OIR- Officers intelligence rating. After the successful document verification one is made to undergo OIR. It is a basic test of aptitude of class 8-10 is what i assume. There is nothing much to prepare,but however if one feels to get familarised they can google up OIR samples or buy any book, where u can find the samples. The test is very simple, make sure you will mark all,if unable to answer then make a near guess as there is no negative marking. OIR has 2 sets of question booklets, which is given one after the other with test time being 25 to 35min each. 2ndpart of Day1- PPDT (Picture perception and description test),Narration and GD. Here i divide the 2nd test of day1 as 3 parts. Make sure one has to be confident,and percieve the picture as it is and jot down the thoughts and actions freely on the paper. *PPDT- Here the candidate will percieve the given picture, to percieve the picture to the best one has to observe the given picture carefully,utilise those 30sec to observe only, dont even think anything. Once you observe the Picture, u will happen to see characters,there age can be percieved, also the sex,mood and what might have happened in near past(May be negative ,neutral or positive) of the given situation in picture. For next 4min. *Candidate will make sure he will mark the hero in the given box. Then Write the age,sex and mood of the hero. *Based on instruction given by officer,candidate may or many not mark rest of the characters in the box. Make sure you will write story with good actions, as well as end it with near future(dont make ur hero to win noble prize,bharat ratna or clear ias exam and all).

**Narration-

Once you write your story, you will be given some time before you enter your GD hall with your group of 15to20Candidates.

Tip-

Always have a template ready in hand for Narration.

Ex- Hello Gentlemen, FROM THE PICTURE I PERCIEVED THAT ARUN 25YEAR AGE +VE IS WITH HIS FRIENDS WHO ALL ARE MALE AND IN AGE GROUO 24TO26 IN +VE MOOD.

THE ACTION IN THE PICTURE IS THEY ARE PLANNING FOR TRIP.

AS ARUN AND FRIENDS MET AFTER 4MONTHS THEY PLANND TO GOTO GOA, ARUN TOOK INTO ACCOUNT OF DAYS ALL WERE FREE,HE MADE A BUDGET,ASKED HIS FRIENDS TO PLAN FOR PLACES, HE ALSO BOOKD A BUS VIA REDBUS, HE MARKED LOCATION ON GMAPS.

HE CIRCULATED THE PLAN WITH FRIENDS ON WATSAP GROUP

ETCECT..

AND ARUN EXECUTED THE PLAN WELL WITH FRNDS,THEY ENJOYD THE TRIP.

Once you have a template,make sure u just change the story as per picture percieved.

Narration tip-

Be confident,sound loud but not harsh,speak crisp,clear and see all your fellow candidates in there eyes.

Give a jist of your story in narration and try concluding with 1min of given time..

Once Narration is done.. Sit hearing stories of others, nod head, hear them, have a smile on your face.

***GD(Its a Group Discussion,not Individual discussion or debate)

Once the last person completes the Narration-

Dont try to jumpin to initiate, if u can then well and good..but if not, wait for sometime ,you will get 1sec of gap somewer, then u jumpin and discuss.

Main important thing here is you should try to use actions and stories of other as well rather than telling your own story.

Always try to make use of best storys and actions of your fellow candidates.

Try to say chestnumbers while using there points and try to get them into discussion.

IF THE GROUP IS FISHMARKET--

Dont loose your calm, dont use your hands nor try to be a mediator in GD.

Be confident ,have smile see everyone.

Try to calm group one or two times.

Chestno1 your points are valid,let chestno2 put his points ,then vl come on common conclusion therafter.
