This article is dedicated to one of my recommended student Amanpreet Singh who received his recommendation after repeated failures.

A very famous story is told that a young man asked Socrates how he could get wisdom.

“Come with me, “Socrates replied. He took the lad to a river and shoved his head underwater. He held it there until the chap struggled for air. Then he let him go.

Once the boy regained composure, Socrates asked him, “What did you desire most when your head was underwater?” “I wanted air,” The boy replied.

Socrates nodded slowly and said “When you want wisdom as much as you wanted air that time, you will receive it.” Similarly, I get many queries from aspirants asking “When will I get recommended?”

My Dear Future Officers,

You will get recommendation when you want it as bad as your life. When you devote your efforts completely towards the goal of your life. Not only SSB this is true for any other field in life. Let it be your love life, your dream job, your dream car or any other thing, when your passion for it becomes your life, it will definitely come to you. If you are not getting recommended that means still your standards are less than what SSB desires. The SSB will not come to you, you will have to go to it. The procedure of SSB has been standing still from the last 80 years, it will maintain its level, and you will have to raise yours to reach it.

So don’t get bogged down by you initial setbacks, embrace them and start again. Learn something from every conference out attempt of yours, keep making changes and improving yourself. Very soon the time will come when you will rise above the bar of SSB and that day my friend, you will get recommendation.

Dear Repeaters of SSB,

Don’t lose hope and maintain the attitude described in the following lines dedicated to every repeater who is on his/her path to get recommended. So when you are on your path of struggle for your recommendation look into the eyes of SSB and say-

"कुछ तुमको(SSB) भी अजीज हैं अपने सभी उसूल, कुछ इत्तेफ़ाक़ से हम(REPEATER) भी जिद के मरीज हैं।
